Onion preserve with Lindemans Kriek-x1200

Ingredients

 ½ kg onions
 1 tbsp olive oil
 1 bottle Lindemans Kriek
 1 tbsp sugar
 6 peppercorns
 1 bay leaf
 3 springs of thyme
 4 cloves
Lindemans Lambic Kriek

Directions

Peel the onions and slice them.

Fry in olive oil.

Pour the Lindemans Kriek into this and add sugar, peppercorns, bay leaf, thyme and cloves.

Bring to a boil over high heat.

Reduce the heat immediately and let it simmer gently for 35 minutes.

Spoon the onion preserve into glass jars that you have rinsed first with boiling water.

Keep the onion preserve in a cool, dark place.
